A complete information about the Conference Centre of IM PAN in Bedlewo
as well as an information how to get there you find on the Internet pages
of the Centre: http://www.impan.gov.pl/Bedlewo.
However since the transfer of data to many places goes very slowly,
we include a short information about the Centre, and practical hints about
travelling to Bedlewo in Poland.
1. LOCATION:
The village of Bedlewo is located ca 30 km to the
south from Poznan. The address of conference centre is:

About the place:
The village of Bedlewo became a property of a famous aristocratic Polish
family Potocki in 1694 and remained with them until 1907. Then the village
passed to other aristocratic families Maczynski and Ledochowski until 1939.
The palace was built in 1866 by Boleslaw Potocki in the neo-gothic style.
The palace and service buildings are surrounded by a 9 ha park. A partially
restored complex was serving for an agricultural school after the II World
War, and in 1975 was donated to the Polish Academy of Sciences. The Institute
of Mathematics acquired the palace complex in the Spring of 1997.
2. HOW TO REACH BEDLEWO:
You may fly directly to Poznan or you may need to change planes in Warsaw.
From the Poznan airport Lawica you should take a taxi (cab) to the Main
Railway Station of Poznan (Poznan Glowny). The fare from the airport is
on Sundays, or at night, about 40 PLN (10 EUR), half of that on weekdays.
The organisers strongly suggest calling Radio Taxi 919 at local phone instead of taking a cab just outside the airport building. The best way to call the taxi is to ask for it at the Information Desk of the airport - they call it for you. There is also a city bus line No 59 to the centre of Poznan, but its last stop (Rondo Kaponiera) is about 700 m away from the railway Station. It is possible to arrive by plane at Warsaw and continue the trip by train to Poznan. From 6 AM to 7 PM there are trains from Warsaw to Poznan every hour.
From the Warsaw Frideric Chopin airport you should take a taxi (cab) to the Central Warsaw Railway Station (Warszawa Centralna). The fare from the airport is on Sundays, or at night, about 50 PLN (13 EUR), half of that on weekdays. The organisers strongly suggest to book a taxi at the special desks of regular taxi companies that are in the exit hall (they speak English) instead of taking a cab just outside the airport building. There is also a city bus line No 175 to the Central Railway Station (tickets are available at the newspapers shops).
For almost all of trains (different types EX, IC, EC) you have also to pay for a reservation of seat (the cost of a second class ticket with supplement is about 50-60 PLN (13-15 EUR)). At the Warsaw Central Station there are many tickets desks (kasa biletowa). It is also possible to buy the train ticket at the Warsaw Airport in the local branch of the travel agency "Orbis".
If you reach Poznan Railway Station then buy the ticket for a local train from Poznan to Mosina (all of the listed trains are local and provide the 2nd class only). Here you are the timetable:

There is luggage store at the Poznan Station.
On 22nd of June we will provide a minibus shuttle transportation
from Mosina to Bedlewo starting at 12:50.

3. ARRIVING:
Please let us know the details of your expected arrival
and departure. Especially we kindly request these who would like to arrive
by the last plane or who NOT arrive on Sunday. Anyway the reception room
in Bedlewo works 24 hours and a supper will be served from 6 PM till late
evening.
4. DIET:
Please let us know in advance if you need or wish a vegetarian diet.
5. WEATHER:
A link to a local weather forecast for every next 3 days
you find in the Internet page of the Bedlewo Conference Centre. One can
expect a temperature approximately 24 C in June.
6. LECTURES:
The conference centre has three lecture rooms equipped
with blackboards and overhead projectors. However only one LCD projector
connected with a notebook will be available. Please let us know if you
wish to use this projector to take it on account in the programme of parallel
sessions.
7. PAYMENT:
All expenses should be paid upon arrival. Polish participants
with any form of payment should add the fiscal code of the home institution (NIP).
For all who would like to exchange money during the meeting we will organise an exchange at the nearest bank.
